LAMP Needs You!
The Lighthouse Archaeology Maritime Program (LAMP) needs help sorting through artifacts from their recent field season. Volunteers will help sort through material recovered from the ocean floor and set aside coal to be further sorted by size and weighed to look for distribution patterns on the wreck. Some small artifacts can be found in the dredge spoil, so it's a chance to make an unique underwater discovery (while safely on land!). It's also a chance to meet and work with Kathleen McCormick, the Lighthouse's Director of Collections/Conservation, who will be overseeing the lab activities.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Debe Thompson, the Lighthouse Volunteer Coordinator at dthompson@staugustinelighthouse.com or at 904-826-0745.
