Students learn about Florida’s British period, its
indigo plantations,
and its coquina archaeology.
Students read selections introducing them to the ways that Dr. Turnbull’s indigo colony utilized coquina structures, introduced Minorcans to Florida, and founded the city of New Smyrna.
